Boom Beach has many abbreviations and special terms that are used frequently by the community to talk about many different parts of the game. This table lists those terms in alphabetical order and gives the full phrase and meaning of each term.

Bar | Barrage | refers to the Barrage Gunboat Weaponry |
Bart/Barty | Barrage and Artillery | term used to designate the damage-dealing Gunboat Weaponry as a whole since they can typically be used interchangeably in battle to destroy Buildings. |
BC | Boom Cannon | refers to the Boom Cannon building |
BD | Building Damage | refers to a defensive building's damage statistic (typically Damage Per Second). Note that this could be confused with the amount of damage a building takes or has taken. The term DBD is typically used. Can also be used to refer to Statues that improve Defensive Building Damage. |
BH | Building Health | refers to a building's health statistic. Can also be used to refer to Statues that improve Building Health |

GB | Gunboat | refers to the Gunboat support building |
GBA | Gunboat Ability | refers to the Temporary Gunboat Abilities that are occasionally available to the Gunboat for a limited period of time. |
GBE | Gunboat Energy | refers to the energy used by the Gunboat to fire Gunboat Weaponry. Can also be used to refer to Statues that improve Gunboat energy. |
Gredics | Grenadiers and Medics | attack strategy consisting of Grenadiers and Medics |
GR | Grappler | refers to the Grappler building |

MT | Mortar | refers to the Mortar building |
NPC | Non-Player Character | refers to an opponent that is not a player. Most often refers to Blackguard Bases; however, Dr. T, Lt. Hammerman, Colonel Gearheart, and unclaimed Resource Bases are also Non-player opponents. |
OP | Operation | usually refers to the Operations that Task Forces can go on. OP Reward refers to the reward players receive after an Operation. Can also mean "overpowered". |
PC | Power Core | refers to the Power Core, the target building on a Power Base. Note that this may also refer to a Personal Computer. |

RB | Resource Base | refers to the Resource Base island type. |
RC | Rocket Choppa | refers to the Rocket Choppa prototroop. |
Remote/Hack | Universal Remote/Remote Hack | refers to Everspark's Universal Remote ability or the Remote Hack gunboat ability. |
Revive/Defib | Second Wind/Remote Defib | refers to Kavan's Second Wind ability or the Remote Defib gunboat ability. |

Vat | Power Cell | refers to the Power Cells found on Operation Bases |
VP | Victory Point | refers to the Victory Points that determine which opponents you are matched with. VP Reward refers to the daily reward that players receive that depends on their Victory Point count. |
Weavy | Warriors and Heavies | refers to the attack strategy that consists of Warriors, the usage of Smoke Screens to help the Warriors reach the target building and (usually) one boat of Heavies to take damage from Mines and Boom Mines leading up to the target building. |

WL | Weapon Lab | refers to the Weapon Lab used to build Prototype Defenses |
WR | Warrior Rush | attack strategy that consists of Warriors overwhelming defenses and/or reaching the target building as quickly as possible and destroying it. |

XP | Experience | refers to the Experience gained by building and upgrading structures and the amount that a player has. It can also refer to the level of the player (see above 'Lv'). |
